The BUYISA Initiative team are dedicated to creating a better future for South Africa and it’s people. A range of experience and skills make up a team with a will to make a change. Here they are:

LYLE HERBERT

Interests: Cars and Bikes

Inspiration: Nigella Lawson

Currently working in IT and completing a Bachelor of Business with a major in Operations, Lyle plans to travel the world. Although he loves cars and bikes, Lyle’s biggest life goal is to be an inspiration to those who want to rise above being average, through the example he sets. “I hope to make a difference to those that are struggling in South Africa and help, because my home country has given me so much.”

SIVASHNI NAIDU

Interests: Music, Family, Learning new things

Inspiration: Mahatma Gandhi

An aspiration to work  for the United Nations  is Sivashni’s biggest life goal. Currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Management and Commercial Law as her majors, Sivashni hopes to truly make a positive impact on peoples’ lives. “I want to be exactle where I’m meant to be in life. I don’t want to miss my opportunity to make a difference. Being a part of the BUYISA Initiative I hope to be involved in a cause that assists the most helpless and vulnberable of people. My hope is to help eradicate the barriers that have held so many in the realm of poverty and to give individuals and communities the chance of a better life.”

JINISHA NAICKER

Interests: Travel, Exploring

Inspiration: Saras Naicker, my Mother

At present, Jinisha is completing a Bachelor of Science with a major in Food Science and hopes to change the world through her groundbreaking research in Food Science and Development. Jinisha wants to make her contribution to sustainable development. “I really want to create opportunities for people who may not have been given them, the BUYISA Initiative is my chance to do that.”

CHRIS RICHE

Interests: Art, Soccer, Family

After just completing his NCEA level 3 certificate Chris aims to really make a difference in the world by working to make it a better place one day at a time. Chris’ passion for people is fuelled by his hope for humanity, “I want to use my life to give back and truly change peoples lives. I believe everyone deserves a million chances and I want to guide people to live fulfilled and enriched lives.”

THEERUSHA GOVENDER

Interests: Adventure, Art, Sports

Inspiration: Richard Branson

Durban born and bred, Theerusha is making waves in New Zealand. She is the CEO of Shashi Doll Fashion House and studied a Bachelors of Business  in Marketing and Advertising at AUT. With a fire for success, she aims to take the fashion industry to new levels. She loves sport and baking (a well matched combination at that) but hopes to close the gap between rich and poor, and ultimately close the gap entirely. “With BUYISA I hope to create an equal opportunity base for all members of South Africa by adding to their quality of life. I view the BUYISA Initiative as a vehicle of change.After all without the insignificant grains of sand ,oysters cannot make pearls and like the sand Buyisa is a small initiative that we know will eventuate into a beautiful pearl which will assist many South Africans.”

STANTON DUNN

Interests: Family, Africa, Cross Country

Inspiration: Dulcie Bridger, my Grandmother

With a love for people, places and progress, Stanton is completing a Bachelor of Business with a major in Marketing & Advertising and has a Diploma in Communication Studies. With a love for South Africa, Stanton sees a nation bursting with opportunity and a people alive with possibilities. “I see the BUYISA Initiative as our opportunity to change South Africa, give hope to its people and redefine the way people live their lives. The time is now to give back, and change lives all around the world. OUR contribution makes all the difference.”
